Make that album!
You are a sports parent and I'm sure you have never thought about making an album of all the special moments that you have celebrated with your child athlete. You ask why am I saying that, well I am a sports parent and a professional photographer and I have not made albums of my kids and actually until recently have not even thought about it. Time for me to get to work, times 3.
When you are starting to think about making an album of your childs sports journey be ready forall the feels. This process will bring up all kinds of feelings since you are watching your little one grow up in front of your eyes, but the album at the end will be worth it.
I bet you are asking why we are suggesting that you make a physical album when you have all these wonderful pictures on your phone or social media? But have you considered the feeling of having the physical album to sit together and look at as you talk about all the memories that are being shown in the images, the images on your phone tend to stay there and are hardly ever looked at. Also have you thought about what you would do if all the pictures and memries that you only have stored digitally suddenly get lost through software crash, accidental deletion or some other way.
The first thing you will want to once you decide that you want to make a physical album you need to decide what you want to focus on. Did your child do different sports through out their childhood? If so do you want to want an album for each sport or one for all sports? This is the first and most important question to ask since this determines the next steps.
Once you have decided how you want to document the journey, now the hard part starts. Going through all those pictures that you have taken over the years, I'm sure there are hundreds or like me thousands to look through. When are starting the process of going through all the images that you have it will seeem overwhelming, but take the time an do the work. I want you do look into the album options that are available to you before you start this process to see how many images will fit into the album that you are looking at. If you don't know anything about albums keep reading, we will give you some different options to look at at the end of this blog entry.
Once you pick out an album and how many images that you will need the fun begins. Time to step back into all the memories and decide which ones you want to include in your album and start designing that album.
